PROGEO MOLINI: THE PRODUCT SHIPPING SYSTEM HAS BEEN ENHANCED

Ganaceto, Modena – The new demands of the Italian milling industry market, the mission aimed at sustainability, and the need to reduce the cost per kilo of flour have prompted Progeo Molini – an agricultural cooperative based in Emilia Romagna – to invest in the construction of a new bulk flour stocking and shipping silo for daily delivery (five to ten tanks per day).   To be precise, this is a “fast” bulk load and delivery system for the direct conveyance of finished products on trucks with the aim of serving the largest number of bulk tanks for both single- and multi-product products, thus supplying small, medium and large businesses with large quantities of product in bulk. The Modena-based company has once again chosen Ocrim to implement its development plan, which includes this state-of-the-art silo that has recently been tested. On this occasion, Ocrim supplied a true “turnkey” plant, following every stage of the project, from the civil works, to the installation of the equipment, to the development of technological solutions for a smarter management of the system.

The silo serves a mill that processes soft wheat – also developed and modernised by Ocrim in 1980 and 1991 respectively – for the production of different types of flour. It is a system with twelve cells, of which four are large (30 T each) for single-product tanks and eight are small/medium-sized (8 T each) for multi-product tanks. The cells are characterised by a high-speed fluidised unloading device and an individual suction system to prevent contamination between the different flour qualities and a level for the control of the quantities of flour contained in them. The installation is completely independent of the existing plant as it is equipped with a compressed air production station for the automatic drives and electrical and automation systems. There is also a weigher bridge to accurately measure the product loaded; multiple loading points, thus saving time when loading tankers; and a pressurised pneumatic system to connect the new section to the existing one.

On testing day, the management of Progeo said: “Ocrim provided us with the most environmentally friendly and sustainable method possible of delivering the final product to our customers. There are both large and small cells in this system, making it possible for us to supply small, medium and large businesses, increasing the group’s versatility and competitiveness in the market.”

Ocrim is proud to have assisted Progeo in this cutting-edge industrial development plan.
