The October sun is slowly setting on this still lively construction site, where every detail takes shape under the golden light of sunset. My favorite time of day. But, watching the work progress, I realize that this special moment is not so definitive. Sunset – followed by twilight – has always been my favorite refuge, but this evening there is something more. Maybe it is the big red structure, in full evolution, that makes me think that the passing of time is not an end, but construction.
Every year that passes is one more brick, a piece of something bigger. More beautiful. Even though I often get lost in thoughts of sunset, this evening I feel that it is not just the arrival of the night. It is the progress of a work, of a life, that becomes more and more interesting, more and more complete. Even in this construction site bathed in warm light, I see that every moment is a step towards a future that is constantly being built. And so, watching the work progress, I think that the best is yet to come, and that Beauty can always surprise us, even when we least expect it.
